3 reasons to consider autumn as a perfect time to sell your property

Autumn is upon us and with the change of season comes the promise of cooler months and relief from the notorious February heat. Autumn is a strong time for real estate- gardens are flourishing, temperatures are great for inspections and properties are generally looking their best.

If you are interested in selling your property, autumn can be a spectacular time to do so– here are three reasons you should contemplate selling this fall season:

1. Idyllic temperatures

The temperature in sunny Brisbane starts to slide to a beautiful 15- 25 degrees during the autumnal months. The memories of 30+ degrees days with soaring humidity are behind us at least for a few months. The city experiences lower humidity and less rain than the other seasons

Properties present beautifully in these temperatures– perfect for open houses!

2. Picturesque gardens

Gardens are looking their best and kerb appeal is at its finest at autumn time- especially after the beautiful, soaking rain we have had over summer. Autumn is also the perfect time to start planting colour into your garden- pansies, violas, sweet peas and carnations will be blooming in no time.

If you do not have a garden- add some ‘autumnal’ inspired greenery to the inside of your property with beautiful ferns, potted succulents, floor plants or kitchen herbs.

Decorating with greenery instantly brightens a property, makes it more homely and can (literally) bring your property to life.

3. No school holiday clashes

Whilst autumn does have the Easter break and ANZAC day public holidays, it is one of the few seasons without a school holiday clash. This means more people are likely to be staying around- perfect for open houses and selling. An added bonus- if you utilise the public holidays, you will have ample opportunity to get your property in top shape for selling. You can do odd jobs around your property such as painting the front fence, tidying up the front garden, cleaning gutters and removing fallen leaves and cleaning all the windows and doors– the little things that can really add value to your property.

With no overseas travel this autumn and a very strong local residential property market, we expect autumn to continue to be a bumper time for property. Please contact the Elevate team if you would like further information or interested in a sales appraisal.
